Tutorials on IT People
see step by step how to examples, and learn by doing

"Server people," are those who build and maintain servers and web server applications. These are people who are looking for a real, practical, regular steady job and income. "Developer people," are those who create and develop web sites, few remain to maintain their creations, most must move on to the next big job and involve some degree of speculative income. "Content people," never stop moving on the next big job. Content people, in spite of the speculative nature of income, are sometimes better at quoting a price, just because of the more rapid transitions. I think you can see how this goes.

Content people have the benefit, and burden, of constantly selling them selves, continually updating their resumes, constantly looking for the next project. Developer people, like engineers, enjoy digging into a project and seek the next big project less frequently, and as a result aren't quite as experienced as content people in finding their next big job. While server people tend to get a job and hang onto it for a long time. These are things everyone should think about when deciding what they want to do as a hobby, or side job, or evening job, and what they want to do full time as their mainstay and for survival.

In reality, to some extent, many people really wear all three hats. But as anything in life, the better your focus the more successful at it you will be.

Remember, server or web server tutorials, and subject matter in general are for "server people." For "server people," who build, maintain, and work on physical or virtual servers the topic of servers and web servers is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL. For those ("developer people" or "content people") into developing web pages, sites, and content to be placed on a server, the subject of computer hardware, OS, servers, and web servers may be a COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR TIME. It would be better to have a web site to work on, then when you find a need to know a little, you'll have the motivation to actually learn about apache in a meaningful way, which occurs rarely. And for those into developing movies or audio recording to bring to market, the subjects of computer hardware, OS, servers and web servers are definitely a waste of your time. The people who built this web site you are on now, know absolutely nothing about building or maintaining servers. And they didn't need to know, and further, if they had known, it would make absolutely no difference in their ability to make this web site; apples and oranges.

Make sure you know what you are really seeking before you commit to paying in $dollars, in time spent, or the opportunity costs.
