CSS allows formatting to be stated once and yet be applied to multiple pages, increasing clarity in the hidden code by reducing repetition in the structural content (and allowing tables's web pages).

WARNING: CSS is important to understand, but don't bother trying to learn it until you have some basics of html down pat, otherwise you won't be able to use it.
