ColdFusion was Macromedia's (before Adobe buy out) programing language for web based database applicatoins, and in competition to Microsofts ASP and Asp.NET wiht MSsql. Cfml stands for "coldfusion markup language," a similer description to hypertext markup language html. ColdFusion is a commercial application, a price to show for it, and thus also in competition to the FREE open source PHP/MySQL based applications.
