Billing Policy
For the monthly PayPal subscriptions, your credit card, or other PayPal accepted source, will be automatically charged or debited each month. For the discount pay-in-advance for extended periods of time purchases, your credit card will be charged once each year, and will continue to do so until you or Tech Self Help cancels the subscription. You will need to keep your billing information up to date and complete to continue receiving uninterrupted service.
Web Hosting Services:
Unless bulk payments are made in advance for extended periods of time, Tech Self Help Web Hosting Services are automatically charged monthly through PayPal as a subscription for an indefinite period of time until either Tech Self Help or a customer cancels services. Customers are responsible for maintaining up to date payment information or for making direct payments in advance for extended term periods (greater than 3 months). No grace period is promised or obligated of Tech Self Help for past due accounts, however if you have a problem, just ask! For example, at Tech Self Help’s discretion we may allow time for a web site and it’s contents to be downloaded or saved for re-creation at another time or on another web host without losing any data or information. Regardless of whether you choose to take advantage of our services and actually use them, you are responsible for ensuring all monies owed are paid on time.
TechSelfHelp™ bills at $5.00 (U.S. dollars) per month for our Basic Web Hosting Package not including any extras or add-ons and will appear on your statement under the company name, techselfhelp.com. You can cancel your account any time.
Should your monthly billing ever be declined (due to card expiration, account expiration, insufficient funds, etc), we will deactivate your account and send you an email message requesting you update your billing method with PayPal. Your account will remain deactivated until you reactivate it. To reopen your account, simply log into the Individual Client Area and create a Help Desk support ticket and update your account information.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Very good reasons to use PayPal! ! ! ! ! !
“PayPal will reimburse you in full for any losses from unauthorized transactions through PayPal that occur within 60 days after,” they, “send you email notice of a transaction that you claim is unauthorized, or within 60 days after you otherwise become aware of unauthorized access to your account.” Read more here.
When purchasing services using PayPal, it is important that you use your PayPal account email address. We will use this address to bill you and to issue refunds when appropriate. And in doing so, you will need to use your PayPal account email address and PayPal password to process any such transactions, including canceling services through PayPal .
We only accept one form of monthly subscription billing, PayPal. No one can steal credit card information for monthly subscription billing from the TechSelfHelp web site, because that information does not exist anywhere in the site or in any Tech Self Help employee or owner’s access. PayPal collects and manages your credit card or bank information and sends us money through our PayPal account. If we send you money, it will be through PayPal, where again you would not have any of our credit card or bank account information either. In this regard PayPal is the ultimate secure exchange!
In other situations, where you write a check or use your credit card at a store, your information does exist there at that store. It is possible that one employee might be so inclined to compromise you, your information and your money. But with PayPal, this situation is so well guarded against, with many levels of security which only a large national corporation such as PayPal could possibly afford, that it represents The Standard in Internet Credit Card Security, which we take advantage of and recommend that you do as well! It also saves small business from having to invest in expensive yet limited security systems, with limited capabilities to protect against abuses.
Even if you don't purchase any TechSelfHelp services, we highly recommend obtaining a PayPal account, which you can use for safely purchasing products and services all over the internet all around the world. Additional information about PayPal's policies, benefits, and resources are available on the PayPal web site.
For tech support or other services:
For one time fees or lump sump payments for services we will bill via email, which allows you to pay via credit card, or PayPal account transfer, through the PayPal web site. If you wish to pay through the mail, you must send a money order. NO CHECKS! For pre-pay services, service will not be rendered until money is deposited in Tech Self Help’s account.
If you can no longer afford service, download your site including root folders to a safe storage medium on your computer. Since you retain ownership of your domain names as long as you renew them on time through your domain name registry service, you can cancel web hosting services for 1 month or 11 years, re-establish services at a later time, re-upload your site, and pickup exactly where you left off when you can afford web hosting service again. Don’t empty your bank account or max out your credit cards to maintain a web site that doesn’t make money or make the world a better place. So long as you maintain the domain name registration each year on time, typically $3 to $10 per year, you can always get your web site back up on the net again later, very easily. If you have any doubts about how to store your web site on your computer take a look at our Tutorials. The hard part is creating a web site, moving a web site between your living room and any web host or even between web hosts is easy.
Cancellation:
Service may be canceled at any time. One may cancel by going to the same place where services were purchased and following the “cancel link” and instructions. One may also cancel service by logging into TechSelfHelp’s Individual Client Area and obtaining a Help Desk support ticket requesting cancellation. It is preferred that you cancel through the PayPal service. Also be warned that sending personal information through email is inherently insecure!
Enough information must be provided to ensure a cancellation request is being made by the actual customer and not illegitimately as an attack against that customer. To cancel you must provide either your PayPal account email address and password to cancel through PayPal, or your TechSelfHelp password for canceling through the TechSelfHelp web site. Additional security information may be required including but not limited to security question and answer, name, physical address, phone number, and date of birth.
You are responsible for making sure that any cancellation is completed and you receive a confirmation email.
Cancellation Period:
Unless special arrangements are made in advance, all domains hosted will be completely deleted shortly after cancellation. Therefore, if you need to download and save a backup copy of any web site or contents within your web space for future use or for use through another web host do so before cancellation to prevent any information loss. An advanced prepay-for-discount is a discount made in exchange for your legal commitment to purchase services for the extended period of time. If you have obtained a discount for prepaying in full for an extended period of time, then you waive any rights to prorated refunds for unused time should you cancel early. Therefore, we recommend not purchasing in advance for periods of time for which you are not certain you will use. If you do purchase an advanced prepay-for-discount for extended periods of time, you will receive notice and warning before your paid period expires. You are responsible for making whatever arrangements are necessary to maintain your web space beyond the expiration of that term, including renewing and paying for continued service or downloading your web space for future use, done before your cancellation, should you choose not to renew.
Collections:
If you pay for service through our PayPal subscription system, and either you or Tech Self Help cancels your services, there are no collections or past due amounts possible from TechSelfHelp! This is another reason we recommend customers use PayPal.
Other Financial Obligations:
To the extent allowed by law, TechSelfHelp has the right to collect from you the amount of any uncollected monies owed, plus any fees assessed and collection expenses, court costs and attorney's fees. To the extent allowed by law, you agree to hold TechSelfHelp harmless from any losses, costs, expenses or damages it may incur in connection with collecting for any debt or in defending any of the foregoing actions, including court costs and attorney's fees. You may be reported to a collection agency or credit bureau if you do not pay for any debts or fees you have authorized in accordance with this billing policy or the Tech Self Help TOS agreement.
Erroneous billing, charges, or debits:
If you believe there has been any billing error, please submit both a Help Desk support ticket, describing the possible error, and a error report to PayPal immediately!
You agree to pay all legitimate credit card debts for purchases made through TechSelfHelp™. We will report any suspected credit card activity and related crimes. Further we are not responsible for any credit card crimes committed while purchasing services from our sites. For questions regarding this or any of our policies email us here.
